Have you ever wondered, “What is in a name?” The doors of Faith & Love Center Church opened on Sunday, June 5, 1994. The name was not selected at random; but, was given by the Lord’s inspiration.
“But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,”
I Thessalonians 5:8.
As God has instructed us, those of us who are numbered as his children must be spiritually rooted and grounded. Our covering (breastplate) is faith and love. Hebrews 11:6 says “without faith, it is impossible to please God.” Our faith is founded in Christ Jesus. Our love is a result of his love for us. Our hope is salvation. In the center of this faith and love stands Jesus ready to lead and to guide.
As you think about the name, remember that this is a church established by Faith & Love with Jesus as the Center.
To promote a spirit of unity that will empower the body of Christ to spread the gospel beyond the walls of the Church; that by our very actions, people will identify us as followers of Jesus Christ, and seeing His love revealed through us, have the desire to follow Christ.
